What’s a better way to celebrate autumns highly anticipated arrival than a harvest festival? From splendid foliage, to flying pumpkins, and delicious seasonal treats, these five annual festivals are certainly one-of-a-kind and warrant a road trip this season!

Autumn at the Arboretum: Dallas, Texas
During the fall, the Dallas Arboretum is transformed into a breathtakingly beautiful show of color. Between the 4,500 fall-colored Chrysanthemums and internationally acclaimed Pumpkin Village, you won’t know where to look. It runs from September 23–November 22, and requires an admission fee for entrance.

Punkin Chunkin: Nassau, Delaware
If you’re looking for a truly unique festival, head to Delaware for the World Championship Punkin Chunkin. From November 3–5, you’ll spend the weekend watching a pumpkin launching competition, enjoying live music, and tasting delectable seasonal fare. Tickets are required and vary in price from a spectator, to camping access, and VIP level.

Cranberry Harvest Festival: Wareham, Massachusetts
Cranberries are both a fall and New England staple. This festival, which runs from October 7–8, features bogside demonstrations, cooking classes, multiple crafters, paddleboat rides on nearby Tihonet Pond, food vendors, and live music. Admission is $10 and covers select activities, but others require an additional fee or donation to local nonprofit organizations.

Sonoma County Harvest Fair: Santa Rosa, California
If you’re a food and wine connoisseur, then this festival is for you. The Sonoma County Harvest Fair showcases the counties grand harvest. From October 6–8, your palette will experience an unforgettable treat. Whether you’re indulging at the Grand Harvest Tasting Pavilion or shopping around at the Wine County Marketplace, you won’t leave hungry. Gate admission is $10 with an extra cost for additional activities.

Bayfield Apple Festival: Bayfield, Wisconsin
